100% Chardonnay, 100% Estate Vineyard Okanagan Falls very light, sandy soil
60% of the juice ferments in French oak barrels, then completes the Malolactic fermentation and ages on sur lie for another 4 months in the same barrique barrels to gain texture. 40% is kept in stainless steel to keep the pure fruit intensity. Blended together in Spring and bottled in Fall, the result is a fruity, complex yet layered wine.
The oak plays the role of a nice backdrop, so the fruit can shine in the front. Alluring aromas of nectarine and honeysuckle with flavours of Meyer lemon, savory stone fruit and a silky texture. Very much what the old wine world produces. It belongs to the new Generation of Chardonnays and is a perfect example of cold climate Chard too.
It’s a typical food wine and easy to pair. Stay on a soft spice level with your cuisine. Creamy and/or baked cheese dishes will pair great. Very nice for veal or vegetarian dishes too.
